Movie
Description
Aya Iwashita, Akira Takizawa's biological mother, was born in Japan and lived there most of her life. She openly described herself as a woman who loves money and had multiple past relationships. Pregnant, she relocated from Tokyo to New York City. There, she became involved with then-Diet member Seiji Iinuma, who provided her with a fully funded apartment. She gave birth to Akira during this time.

Her New York lifestyle prioritized personal indulgence, often sending young Akira to movies or leaving him alone. She eventually returned to Japan with Akira but abandoned him at a store when he was five years old, leaving him only 500 yen, an act that severed their relationship. She then established and ran a pub named Angelika in Mishuku.

Years later, during the events of Paradise Lost, Saki Morimi and Satoshi Osugi located Aya using the Eden of the East image recognition system, tracking her pet Mameshiba to a Thai restaurant she managed. When questioned about Akira's paternity, she neither confirmed nor denied Seiji Iinuma was the father, though a photograph found at the restaurant showed her pregnant with Iinuma at an amusement park twenty years prior. She acknowledged abandoning Akira with 500 yen and confirmed he was her son. As secret police arrived under Mononobe's orders to interrogate her, she fled with Saki through a back exit.

Aya exhibits avoidance of responsibility and self-preservation, demonstrated by abandoning Akira and evading authorities. Her name, Aya Iwashita, reflects "design" (綾) and "under rock" (岩下).
