Description
Shōko Kirishima, class representative of Fumizuki Academy’s Class 2-A and the highest-achieving student in her year, balances academic brilliance with an unshakable resolve to marry her childhood friend, Yuuji Sakamoto. Their bond traces back to elementary school, where Yuuji’s indifference to her family’s wealth—unlike others who treated her differently—sparked her affection. A vow made to Yuuji’s mother reinforced her lifelong mission to secure their future together.

Calm and collected on the surface, Shōko harbors intense possessiveness, deploying aggressive measures like stun guns, scissor threats, or physical confrontations to ward off anyone approaching Yuuji. Jealousy fuels these actions, particularly when misunderstandings arise, such as mistaking a friend’s prank message for proof of Yuuji’s betrayal. Yet her trust in him remains unshaken; she accepts his explanations without question, even when he deliberately feeds her false information.

A prodigy in memorization, she retains knowledge indefinitely, though technology baffles her—electronics often meet accidental destruction, save for the tasers she wields with precision. When provoked, her physical prowess surges, enabling her to pursue Yuuji with weapons like a nail bat at startling speed.

Her summon, an armored samurai brandishing a chokutō, mirrors her disciplined mindset. During exam battles, she strategically sacrifices victory for personal gains, such as securing a marriage pact from Yuuji, though their underage status renders it legally void.

Shōko’s meticulous planning extends to naming future children: Shōyu (blending her and Yuuji’s names) for a daughter and Koshō (inverting her own name) for a son. This foresight underscores her unwavering focus on a shared life with Yuuji, despite his hesitance.

A lonely childhood shaped her devotion. Yuuji’s defense against bullies vandalizing his desk left an indelible mark, as did his harsh rejection meant to protect her—a moment she misinterpreted as deepening their bond. Her relationship with Yuuji’s mother further anchors her commitment, framing marriage as both a personal promise and familial duty.

While she maintains friendships, such as with class ambassador Yuuko Kinoshita, her narrative centers on comically intense efforts to wed Yuuji. This blends traditional Yamato Nadeshiko grace with relentless determination, encapsulated by her name’s symbolism: “Shōko” (“soaring child”) reflecting ambition, and “Kirishima” (“fog-covered island”) hinting at the enigma beneath her composed exterior.
