Description
Veldora Tempest, the Storm Dragon, ranks among the five True Dragons as the fourth eldest. Born from chaos with dominion over wind, water, and space, he existed over 2,000 years, frequently unleashing destructive rampages across the world due to profound restlessness and boredom. Approximately 300 years prior to the main timeline, the summoned Hero Chronoa sealed him within the Endless Prison barrier after he devastated a human city and assaulted the domain of Demon Lord Luminous Valentine—who still harbors resentment. This imprisonment isolated him in the Sealed Cave until Rimuru, a reincarnated slime immune to his overwhelming aura, entered.

Their bond formed through conversation and mutual naming: Veldora granted the slime the name "Rimuru" and received the surname "Tempest," signifying equality. To bypass the seal, Veldora allowed Rimuru to absorb and contain him via the Predator skill. Within Rimuru’s Stomach, he analyzed the seal while devouring Rimuru’s memories of Japanese pop culture, which he revered as "sacred texts," and befriended the flame spirit Ifrit, later naming him "Charys" as an apprentice.

Veldora’s full release occurred nearly two years later when Rimuru’s evolution into a Demon Lord enabled crafting a vessel from a clone body. Reshaping it into a humanoid form over two meters tall, he manifested with blonde hair, golden eyes featuring zigzag markings beneath them, and a muscular physique. His typical attire included black pants, armored boots, and a black cape with a red interior. This vessel suppressed his intimidating presence, projecting the image of a merely handsome youth.

Personality-wise, Veldora is boisterous, energetic, and prideful, often boasting and seeking attention. Beneath his fearsome reputation lies childlike enthusiasm, social awkwardness, and bluntness, masking shyness. Exposure to Rimuru’s memories cultivated patience and analytical thinking, tempering his impulsiveness. He developed unwavering loyalty to Rimuru, viewing him as a sworn friend and brother who ended his solitude. A Soul Corridor links them, allowing power sharing and rendering Veldora functionally immortal—revivable indefinitely as long as Rimuru survives.

As guardian deity of the Jura Tempest Federation, he resides in Rimuru City. To control his volatile energy, he occupies an underground dungeon serving as its "last boss." He contributes to national affairs through research, warrior training, and operating a takoyaki stand at festivals, surprising observers with his culinary skill. His combat prowess includes authority over wind, water, and space, vast magic reserves, and signature techniques like "Death Wind," "Black Thunder," and "Ruin Tempest." Post-revival, he gained the Ultimate Skill "Lord of Chaos" (Nyarlathotep), enhancing analysis, fate manipulation, and near-total attack immunity. He often integrates manga-inspired moves into his "Veldora-Style Martial Arts."

Veldora shares strained ties with elder sisters Velzard and Velgrynd, avoiding them due to trauma from their harsh discipline over his past rampages. Rimuru’s non-punitive guidance strengthened their bond. Veldora later expressed jealousy when his sisters shifted focus to a younger dragon sibling, Velgaia.

Across media, Veldora aids Tempest in crises like the Tenma Great War, defeating foes such as Dagrule. During the Eastern Empire conflict, a God-Slaying Bullet controlled him until Rimuru intervened. Special episodes like "Tensura: Tales – Veldora’s Journal" explore his perspective. His comedic traits include mimicking manga dialogue and unintentionally disrupting plans, particularly those of Luminous Valentine, whose name he habitually misremembers.
