Description
Minami Asaoka, a 14-year-old junior high student in Takaragaseki City, serves as one of three central human protagonists entrusted with recovering dispersed Jewelpets. A lifelong companion of Rinko Kougyoku, she bonds with Garnet, a Persian cat Jewelpet embodying love, while her family runs a local okonomiyaki restaurant under her father Yuujiro’s management. Outwardly tomboyish and skilled in kendo, Minami conceals a fondness for pink décor and plush toys that fill her private space—a secret shared solely with Garnet.

Her kendo-honed agility and resolve prove vital during missions, where she assists Rinko in combating adversaries threatening Jewelpet retrieval. Privately, she grapples with unspoken feelings for Hisashi Miyamoto, her senior in the kendo club, her hesitance to confess explored through candid exchanges with Garnet. This emotional tension underscores her journey toward reconciling vulnerabilities with her responsibilities.

Collaborating with Rinko and Aoi Arisugawa, Minami balances teamwork and interpersonal bonds while tracking Jewelpets. Her family life includes twin brothers, Tetsuya and Hiroshi, though her mother’s absence remains unaddressed. Central to her growth is her steadfast loyalty to allies and evolving self-acceptance, particularly in embracing concealed passions and emotional transparency.
