Description
Inspector Clamp Grosky serves as a Scotland Yard police inspector, appearing across multiple series entries. His distinctive appearance features a fair complexion, blue pompadour hairstyle, a unibrow, and a mustache. He typically wears a beige double-breasted suit jacket with six black buttons over a white shirt and red tie, green pants, and black shoes. His exposed chest hair forms a heart shape, observed during certain events.

Grosky exhibits a highly energetic and athletic personality, often choosing to run rather than use conventional transport. He shows great enthusiasm during investigations, though his approach can be sometimes overly trusting. He demonstrates superhuman physical capabilities, including outrunning motorized vehicles, swimming across oceans, and climbing steep surfaces like a moving ship's hull without assistance. He also possesses significant strength, evidenced by punching his way out of a garbage can while trapped inside.

Six years before "Professor Layton and the Last Specter," Grosky worked as a constable. During this time, he mistakenly arrested Emmy Altava based on a false theft accusation. Professor Hershel Layton intervened to resolve the misunderstanding. Following this incident, Grosky advanced to inspector and developed a professional friendship with Emmy.

In "Last Specter," Grosky participates in the investigation of the Specter haunting Misthallery. He assists in accessing case files at Scotland Yard's archives and races to the town to aid the inquiry. While not directly solving the central mystery, he supports evacuation efforts during the climactic confrontation and witnesses the antagonist's exposure.

During "Eternal Diva," Grosky investigates suspicious activity at the Crown Petone opera house. He attempts to arrest a figure on stage during the "Eternal Life" game announcement, only to discover it was an explosive puppet. Handcuffed to this device, he is carried overboard when it detonates, plunging him into shark-infested waters. He subsequently climbs back aboard the vessel twice—first being pushed back into the water by Nina (under Melina Whistler's influence), and later forced to retreat when the ship explodes. Emmy eventually rescues him, transporting him via airplane to the island of Ambrosia. There, he assists in arresting several of Jean Descole's servants and ultimately takes Oswald Whistler into custody after Whistler plays a final song.

In "Miracle Mask," Grosky travels to Monte d'Or at the local police's request to help capture the Masked Gentleman. He discusses the mysterious occurrences with Professor Layton but frequently departs abruptly upon receiving reports of criminal activity.

During "Azran Legacy," Grosky pursues the criminal organization Targent under Chief Inspector Carmichael's orders. He encounters Layton, Emmy, and Luke in London during this pursuit; Emmy intervenes to save him from Targent operatives. His relentless chase culminates in the arrest of Leon Bronev, an achievement resulting in a promotion.
