Description
Akira Okudaira, a cheerful and earnest first-year student at Fujigaya Girls Academy, reignites a decade-lost bond with childhood friend Fumi Manjōme, navigating Fumi’s romantic uncertainties with initial hesitance before wholeheartedly supporting her journey. Her well-meaning but occasionally clumsy attempts to help others—evident in drama club collaborations with Kyōko Ikumi—sometimes lead to unintended revelations of friends’ secrets, testing trust. Subtle pangs of jealousy during Fumi’s interactions with others gradually unravel Akira’s own unspoken feelings, culminating in a heartfelt proposal to transition their bond from loyal friendship to committed romance.

Her petite frame, orange shoulder-length hair, and black eyes contrast Fumi’s taller presence, while her protective older brother Shinobu and parents Sakiko and Yoshimichi anchor her familial ties. Classmates Yōko Hon’atsugi, Miwa Motegi, and Misako Yasuda join her in crafting school plays, where adapting literary works and resolving creative tensions sharpen her emotional maturity. Through collaborative projects and quiet introspection, Akira evolves from a lighthearted adolescent to someone embracing love’s complexities, balancing vulnerability with newfound resolve in her relationship with Fumi.
