TV Special
Description
Kazuki Hihara is a student at Seiso Academy who transferred from the track club to pursue music. Born on December 12, he is 178 cm tall with blood type B. His family consists of his parents and an older brother, Haruki Hihara. He maintained perfect attendance throughout grade school and middle school.

He possesses an enthusiastic, easy-going, and cheerful personality, often appearing refreshingly energetic and carefree. Kazuki is consistently loud and smiling, talking excessively with little awareness of social boundaries. He displays an aggressively friendly and outgoing nature, coupled with an enormous appetite, particularly for baked goods.

His musical journey began when he heard a female senior playing trumpet on the school rooftop. Amazed by her performance, he tried playing himself and soon quit track to join the school band with friends' support, finding his passion through this inspiration.

He develops feelings for Kahoko Hino after she tends to a minor injury, making him blush and become conscious around her. He starts calling her "Kaho-chan" to show affection. These feelings occasionally impact his performance, such as during a concours when her comment about another player caused conflict. He confesses his crush to his best friend Azuma Yunoki and grows hyper-aware of Kahoko's presence.

As a trumpet player in the Orchestra Club, he believes music should be enjoyed by all and helps others appreciate this perspective. He maintains a close friendship with Azuma Yunoki, supporting him unconditionally, and participates in the school's concours.

After graduating, he becomes a teacher and wind orchestra instructor at Shiseikan High School, where he mentors Yukihiro Yagisawa. He continues his association with music education.

His name means "harmony, peace" and "tree," while his surname means "fire" and "field, plain." The "fire" character corresponds to Mars in Japanese symbolism.

By age 25 in later story arcs, he continues teaching and appears in flashbacks and manga adaptations related to his students and music. His friendship with Azuma remains consistent across media. Previously involved in middle school track, he left due to his growing musical passion.

During concours events, he initially approached competitions like festivals but grew more serious about winning, partly influenced by his feelings for Kahoko. His development involves learning to manage emotions while maintaining musical passion.
