Description
Rossiu Adai hails from Adai, an underground village that venerated a dormant Gunman as divine. This community rigidly enforced a population cap of fifty, exiling surplus residents chosen by lottery to the lethal surface world – a policy that claimed Rossiu's mother. When orphans Gimmy and Darry faced exile, Rossiu chose to accompany them upwards. All three subsequently joined Team Gurren. After Kamina's death, Rossiu became the pilot of the Gunman Gurren.

Seven years post-Spiral King's defeat, Rossiu served as Chief Advisor in Kamina City's nascent government, acting as Simon's second-in-command. Faced with the Anti-Spiral's extermination decree and the looming moonfall crisis, Rossiu implemented draconian population control to prevent underground overcrowding. As public panic surged over the falling moon, he arrested Simon, charging him with treason and sentencing him to death, convinced this sacrifice was vital for societal stability. Simultaneously, he devised the Arc-Gurren spaceship as a contingency to save a fragment of humanity. Upon scientific confirmation that Earth's surface would remain uninhabitable for a year post-impact, Rossiu ordered prioritizing livestock and essential genetic samples over human lives for the evacuation – a strategy ultimately preempted by an early Anti-Spiral assault.

After Simon halted the moonfall, Rossiu, consumed by remorse, retreated to Adai village intending suicide. Simon and Kinon intervened, physically stopping him. Simon's counsel, echoing Kamina's philosophy, enabled Rossiu to confront his failures. He accepted responsibility for reconstruction and was entrusted with Earth's safety during Team Dai-Gurren's mission against the Anti-Spiral. In the epilogue, twenty years later, Rossiu held the leadership title of "President," governing humanity's interstellar expansion and maintaining order in Simon's absence. He presided over Simon and Nia's wedding, marking his reconciliation. His later leadership balanced pragmatic governance with Team Dai-Gurren's core ideals, acknowledging Simon's lasting influence while dedicating himself to sustainable advancement.
