Description
Yonekuni Madarame is an 18-year-old third-year high school student working part-time as a waiter. He holds both British and Japanese nationality, though his citizenship is Japanese. His father, Maximilian Seymour, is a heavy-seed dragon (crocodile), and his mother, Makio Madarame, is a heavy-seed snake. This mixed heritage makes Yonekuni a Mizuchi—a hybrid dragon-snake Zooman classified as a heavy seed bearing the Jyanome trait. As a Madararui, he perceives others' souls to identify them as Madararui or Kakuen, his own soul manifesting as a large crocodile.

Physically tall and handsome, Yonekuni has light blue-green eyes and blonde hair, once long but now cropped short. He occasionally wears glasses. His reptilian physiology grants him exceptional swimming ability—he once set a record in the 200-meter distance—but leaves him highly vulnerable to cold due to an inability to generate sufficient body heat. He compensates with heavy warm clothing or frequent sexual activity as thermal regulation.

Yonekuni harbors intense misandry, despising all men except himself, stemming from trauma at the hands of his stepfather, David Woodville. This hatred extends to artists and foreign locations outside Japan. Despite this aversion, he forges a pivotal connection with Shiro Fujiwara, requesting Shiro be his "temporary friend" for companionship. Their dynamic is complex: Yonekuni initially treats Shiro dismissively, later discovering Shiro saved him from near-drowning during middle school. Unrecognized then as an Inugami (dog Zooman), Shiro became Yonekuni's first love—a memory Yonekuni repressed as a hallucination until learning of Shiro's heritage.

Sexual and romantic tensions define their relationship. During unconsciousness triggered by cold, Yonekuni sought Shiro for physical intimacy, later mistaking these encounters for dreams. Confronted with the truth, he grapples with self-denial and anger but gradually acknowledges Shiro as his rescuer and genuine love interest. Their bond evolves from toxicity to mutual commitment, though Yonekuni retains jealous tendencies.

Family is central to Yonekuni. He shares a close bond with his younger half-brother, Kunimasa Madarame, protecting and supporting him. Training Kunimasa's partner, Norio, Yonekuni compels Norio to wear girls' clothes to tolerate male proximity, a requirement that lessens over time. He mentors Norio, explaining Madararui biology and advocating healthier dynamics between Norio and Kunimasa. Yonekuni's name combines "Yone" (wealth) and "Kuni" (country), translating to "wealthy country."
