Description
Sankurou Kaname is a high school student and classmate of protagonist Yuuri Mito, characterized by short brown spiky hair, short bangs, and a beard. His slim, pale frame fits a young adult profile, typically clad in a school uniform: blazer, trousers, necktie, and belt. He speaks in Kansai dialect using the pronoun "ore," reflecting his regional roots. Sankurou forms a close friend group with Yuuri and Ameri Kawai. During spring break, he joins them in discovering a mysterious relic within the school's wooded area—an object sealing the supernatural Tayutai race. He later aids Yuuri's ritual to relocate the relic's spirits before its demolition, but an accident involving Ameri destroys the relic and releases the Tayutai. His role remains supportive, assisting Yuuri during this critical event without centrality to main Tayutai or heroine plotlines. Sankurou appears consistently as Yuuri's friend across Tayutama adaptations: the original visual novel, anime series, and spin-off "Tayutayu: Pure My Heart." Additional background notes his musical involvement, though no media elaborates on his family, personal history, or significant character development.
