Ou, a member of the supernatural Tayutai race unleashed by a shattered relic's seal, forms the Houou couple with Hou. As one of the hostile "Three Mightiest" Tayutai, Ou initially directs aggression toward humans. This animosity manifests when Yumina Takanashi bonds with Hou, prompting Ou to attack her. The conflict intensifies into a mid-air battle where Ou confronts Yumina, the bird-formed Hou, and Yuri Mito. To protect Yumina, Yuri strikes Ou unconscious, triggering a transformation into a child-like state.

Subsequently, the discord between Ou and Hou emerges as a lovers' quarrel rather than malice. Yumina intervenes, advocating for familial unity and reconciliation. This mediation resolves their conflict, leading Ou and Hou to embrace peaceful coexistence under Yumina's guardianship.
