Description
Setsuna Higashi debuted as Eas, a cold and isolated soldier fiercely loyal to Moebius within the organization Labyrinth. Her Eas persona exhibited anger and impatience, visually defined by silver hair, red eyes, and a black-and-red outfit featuring metallic accents, raspberry-colored gems, and opera-length gloves. Tasked with infiltrating the human world to spy on Pretty Cure, she assumed the human identity "Setsuna Higashi," characterized by dark purple hair and lifeless eyes. Initially plotting against the team, she gradually formed genuine bonds—particularly with Cure Peach (Love Momozono)—sparking inner turmoil over Labyrinth’s objectives. This conflict escalated when Moebius granted her a Nakisakebe card, boosting her monsters' power while draining her lifespan.
Learning she had one day to live, Eas confronted Cure Peach in a final battle. During the clash, she admitted her jealousy of Love’s happiness and embraced her own desire for fulfillment. After her physical death, the fairy Chiffon and Akarun revived her as Cure Passion, the fourth Pretty Cure member. Reborn with light pink waist-length hair, she adopted a red-and-black costume adorned with a tiara, heart motifs, and Love’s clover necklace. Permanently taking the name Setsuna, she moved into the Momozono household, joined Love’s dance group Clover, and enrolled at Yotsuba Junior High.
As Cure Passion, her catchphrase shifted to "I’ll do my best!" and she wielded the Passion Harp for attacks like Happiness Hurricane. Her personality evolved toward kindness and patience, though she wrestled with guilt over past actions and naivety about human customs. Key relationships included a sisterly bond with Love, supportive friendships with teammates Miki and Inori, and familial care for the fairy Tarte. Her journey involved reconciling with former Labyrinth comrades Westar and Soular after their own betrayals of Moebius; together, they rebuilt Labyrinth post-conflict. Setsuna also achieved enhanced forms: Cure Angel Passion (gaining angel wings and extended attire) and Rainbow Cure Passion (with golden wings). In the series finale, she returned to Labyrinth with Westar and Soular to nurture its renewal while sustaining human-world ties—especially through ongoing dance practices with Love.
