Description
Maria Nanadan, princess of Havoniwa and daughter of Queen Flora Nanadan, attends Holy Land Academy with her competitive cousin, Lashara Earth XXVIII; the cousins constantly strive to outdo one another. Maria consistently uses the majestic plural, reflecting her royal status. Her devoted servant, Yukine Mare, accompanies her nearly constantly, sharing a bond that transcends a typical master-servant dynamic; Maria depends deeply on Yukine for information and support, demonstrating mutual reliance.

Raised as royalty, Maria lacks practical skills and avoids manual labor, often resting under an umbrella while others work and complaining of fatigue after minimal exertion. Her cooking skills are similarly underdeveloped due to lifelong reliance on servants, notably exposed during a pot-dish battle.

Early on, Maria deduces Kenshi Masaki pilots the white Sacred Mechanoid involved in Lashara's assassination attempt. She schemes to orchestrate a romance between Kenshi and Yukine, intending for Kenshi to become her attendant through marriage. However, Maria later develops her own romantic feelings for Kenshi, initially suppressing them to prioritize Yukine's connection.

Maria is frequently mortified by her mother Flora's hedonistic behavior and attention-seeking, a shared grievance with Lashara. Once, they retaliated by exploiting Kenshi's hypnotic massage ability – which induces delayed, intense reactions – only to discover Flora immensely enjoyed the effects, deepening Maria's embarrassment.

After Havoniwa's palace falls, Queen Flora places Maria in charge of governmental affairs to prepare her for succession, marking a significant step in her maturation. Later, Flora and King Shurifon conspire to arrange a marriage between Kenshi and both Aura Shurifon and Maria, leaving Maria flustered and speechless about her unresolved feelings.

The Nanadan surname connects her lineage to Sir Papacharino Nanadan, a comical antagonist from the unrelated series *Photon: The Idiot Adventures*. Given *Photon*'s setting thousands of years before *War on Geminar* on the same planet, a distant familial link is plausible.
