TV-Series
Description
Shunan, eldest son of the Aluhan—Grand Duke of the military territory Lyoza—is heir to the Aluhan title. He serves as a head captain within the Touda Army, commanding the use of dragon-like reptiles in warfare. His name reflects his ruling dynasty lineage, adhering to the male "-an" naming convention.
He champions political reform to end the enduring conflict between the Aluhan's territory and the Yojeh's kingdom, advocating unification under a single leadership without military force. Shunan proposes a marriage alliance with Princess Seimiya, the Yojeh's granddaughter and heir, believing their union would bridge the divide symbolically and politically. This "Altar Diplomacy" faces initial resistance due to traditions separating the sacred Yojeh and the militaristic Aluhan.
A shared affection exists between Shunan and Seimiya, though political maneuvering complicates their relationship. Following the assassination of the previous Yojeh, Halumiya, which heightens tensions, Shunan delivers an ultimatum to Seimiya: marry him or face battle on Tahai Azeh plain within four months.
Shunan experiences familial conflict, notably with his younger brother Nugan. Once an admirer, Nugan's opposing ideology—that the Aluhan must remain subservient to the Yojeh—fuels rivalry and leads him to betray their family. During the confrontation at Tahai Azeh, Nugan kills their father, the Aluhan, attempting to thwart Shunan's peace efforts.
After the Aluhan's death, Shunan ascends as the new Grand Duke. To prevent further bloodshed, Seimiya accepts his marriage proposal, unifying the territories and ending the civil war.
