Description
Shinobu Takatsuki is an 18-year-old high school student from considerable wealth, as the son of Mitsuhashi University's owner and the younger brother of Miyagi Yō's ex-wife. He first encountered Miyagi three years before his sister's divorce when Miyagi rescued him from robbers at a library; Shinobu interpreted this meeting as fateful. The event ignited romantic feelings he initially concealed due to their familial tie.
Shinobu exhibits a serious yet intensely passionate personality, capable of kindness and cheerfulness but prone to powerful jealousy, especially directed at Hiroki because of Hiroki's closeness with Miyagi. Emotionally driven, he often acts without considering others' perspectives, displaying stubborn determination in pursuing his desires. Physically, he is short and slim, with large grayish eyes that later gain a slight blue tint, light brown hair, and pale skin that flushes readily.
Learning of Miyagi's divorce, Shinobu returned from studying abroad in Australia to confess his feelings, demanding Miyagi "take responsibility" for his love. Despite Miyagi's initial rejections and attempts to dissuade him, Shinobu persistently pursued the relationship, convinced of their destined bond. His aggressive tactics included cornering Miyagi and making forceful advances, leading to tense conflicts where Miyagi nearly crossed a line.
Over time, Shinobu's persistence gradually eroded Miyagi's resistance. He enrolled in law at Tokyo University and moved into the apartment next to Miyagi's, symbolizing their evolving connection. Though academically excellent, Shinobu struggles with emotional expression, frequently behaving unreasonably or impulsively. He demonstrates sincerity through persistent efforts like repeatedly attempting to cook for Miyagi, despite notable ineptitude—mastering only fried cabbage. A deep-seated insecurity plagues him: the fear that Miyagi's affection stems from pity rather than genuine love, a concern rooted in their 17-year age gap and power imbalance. His relationship with Miyagi eventually stabilizes, though defining traits of jealousy and emotional intensity remain.
