Description
Cattleya is a former adventurer who now manages a weapon-smithing shop. She is married to Owen, a fellow ex-adventurer, and together they have a young son named Rana. Her peaceful life running the Cattleya Weapons Shop with her family is disrupted when Owen suddenly vanishes without explanation. Believing that the widespread broadcast of the Queen's Blade tournament might provide clues to his whereabouts, Cattleya decides to enter the competition, carrying her son Rana with her as she seeks any sign of her missing husband.

In terms of appearance, Cattleya is a tall and muscular woman, standing approximately 175cm or about five feet nine inches. She has black hair tied in a ponytail with a fringe covering part of her forehead, and blue eyes hidden behind a pair of spectacles. Her most frequently noted physical characteristic is her extremely large bust, which is held in place by a tight, purple, apron-like dress. She has an ivory skin tone and a mature, voluptuous figure.

Cattleya possesses a kind and gentle personality, often serving as a maternal figure to those around her, a trait likely influenced by her role as a mother. This gentle demeanor contrasts sharply with the fierce and serious side she displays when engaged in combat, revealing the seasoned warrior she once was. Despite her friendly nature, she carries a hint of sadness and a determined resolve as she continues her search for her lost husband. Outside of battle, she enjoys gardening, while cockroaches are noted as a particular dislike. She was once known by the epithet "Giant Killer" during her days as a renowned adventurer, a name that reflects her formidable prowess.

Her primary motivation for joining the Queen's Blade is to find her missing husband, Owen. She believes that by participating in the widely viewed tournament, she may attract his attention or uncover a clue that will lead her to him. Her son, Rana, who refuses to be separated from his mother, accompanies her into battle, and she is determined to protect him while also searching for his father. Her personal motto reflects their inseparable bond, as she expresses a commitment to face any challenge together with her child.

Within the story, Cattleya plays the role of a caring mother and a formidable fighter. Her key relationships are with her immediate family. Before his disappearance, she and her husband Owen were a legendary adventuring couple who overcame many hardships together. Her son, Rana, is her constant companion, and she fights while holding him, a decision that puts her at a tactical disadvantage but which she accepts as non-negotiable. She is also noted to have been a friend of the alchemist Cyan, who helped them produce high-quality weapons from low-cost iron. Additionally, she has connections to other characters, as the young noble Leina (also known as Reina) admired Cattleya's adventuring stories and her ability to balance a happy family life with her own strength as a woman.

Throughout the series, Cattleya's development is shown through her dual existence as a gentle and caring mother and a fierce warrior. She transitions from a celebrated adventurer to a settled shopkeeper and mother, only to be drawn back into a life of conflict due to her husband's disappearance. Her character does not shed her maternal role for the sake of the tournament; instead, it is central to her identity, and she faces the challenge of fighting while protecting her son, showcasing a development that intertwines her past strength with her present responsibilities.

Cattleya is an exceptionally skilled warrior with tremendous physical strength. Her primary weapon is a massive sword named the Giant Killer, forged by her husband Owen, known for its peerless reach and destructive power. She can wield this enormous blade with ease, often knocking down opponents with a single blow. In addition to the Giant Killer, she is also proficient with javelins, a popular item from her shop that she uses for both throwing and thrusting attacks. Her combat style is unique and risky, as she fights with her son Rana in her arms, leaving her less agile and more vulnerable, but she transforms this apparent weakness into a fierce determination. Beyond her combat skills, she is a master weaponsmith, a profession that earned her a prestigious reputation for forging and repairing high-quality weapons long before she entered the tournament.
