Description
Shōri Shibuya, older brother to Yuuri Shibuya, was born on November 22 in Arkansas, United States, to parents Shouma and Shibuya Miko. Childhood bullying ended when Bob intervened, rescuing the brothers and naming Shōri as Earth's future Maou. This cemented Shōri's protective instincts toward Yuuri, though he initially resented his parents over their disputes and Yuuri's destiny in Shin Makoku. Bob's reassurance that Yuuri's departure lay far ahead let Shōri cherish their remaining time. He wished Yuuri would call him "Onii-chan," but Yuuri's independence after starting elementary school led Shōri to maintain frequent contact with Bob, whom he saw as overly age-focused.

Shōri carries himself with reserve and occasional coldness, especially toward Shin Makoku visitors. He objected to Wolfram von Bielefeld and others staying at his family home, showing pointed hostility toward Conrad Weller due to their similar build—which resulted in Conrad borrowing Shōri's clothes. Shōri demanded their return impeccably cleaned. Despite early friction, he and Conrad built mutual respect through their shared devotion to Yuuri's protection.

In Shin Makoku, Shōri grew distrustful of Shinou, Murata, and the four forbidden boxes. He accurately suspected Murata's potential betrayal, though others initially dismissed his warnings. Training under Ulrike unlocked Shōri's innate magic, with Wolfram brokering an elemental pact akin to Odine's aid to Yuuri. His water-based magic first emerged as a colossal hand, evolving into water dragons after rigorous practice. Ulrike remarked on his exceptional progress, achieving advanced control swiftly.

Shōri displays perceptiveness and empathy, consistently sympathizing with Jeneus and believing in his separate soul. He enjoys dating simulators and nicknamed his palm PC "Betsujin 27-go," referencing Tetsujin 28-go. CD dramas feature him calling Wolfram a "beauty." His immediate ambition centers on becoming Tokyo's Mayor.
