Description
Ayano Minegishi attends Ryōō High School as a class representative on the discipline committee and a Tea Club member. She lives with her parents and an elder sister. Ayano shares a deep, long-standing friendship with Misao Kusakabe, acting as her primary caretaker and mediator since childhood, a role observed by Kagami Hiiragi. This role naturally extends to making peace between Kagami and Misao during their conflicts.

Physically, Ayano possesses an average build, long orange hair held back by a white headband that draws attention to her forehead, and blue eyes, with two strands of hair usually framing her face. Her demeanor is overtly feminine, contrasting Misao's tomboyishness. She exhibits a gentle, kind, and passive nature, consistently prioritizing others' needs, especially Misao's.

Despite her usual calm, Ayano harbors a formidable temper when provoked. Misao references multiple instances of this intimidating anger, though specific violent accounts remain undocumented. Two notable incidents highlight this trait: Misao spilling coffee on Ayano's cherished stuffed raccoon doll, Rirattanu (a play on Rirakkuma), and Ayano confronting Misao in the "Creativity" manga strip about a dream involving Misao's brother, questioning if she had "dark dreams" about him. This reaction gains significance from Ayano's romantic relationship with Misao's older brother, revealed in volume 7 of the manga. Ayano is the series' only character confirmed to have a boyfriend.

Her hobbies include window shopping, leisurely walks, and confectionery making, detailed in supplementary materials like Hiyori Tamura's Notes. Academically, she excels in Japanese but struggles with mathematics. A cultural reference in volume 5 labels her a "Thigh-girl" (gal), alluding to the otaku term "zettai ryoueki" ("Absolute Territory") describing girls in thigh-high boots or stockings with short skirts; its direct relevance to Ayano remains unexplained but may hint at hidden assertiveness beneath her innocent exterior.

Ayano bears a striking resemblance to Miki Hanabishi from *Hayate the Combat Butler*. Her character development remains consistent across media, emphasizing her supportive friend role and underlying personality complexity.
