Mai Aizawa

Description
Mai Aizawa is a Japanese voice actress and singer from Tokyo, born on August 21, 1980. She is affiliated with the talent agency Aoni Production. Her path to becoming a voice actor began after a period working as an office lady, which ended when her company went bankrupt. This event prompted her to pursue her childhood dream, leading her to enroll in the Aoni Juku training school, from which she graduated as part of the 24th class.

Aizawa made her debut as a voice actress in 2004, with her first major role being Natsumi Murakami in the anime and OVA adaptations of Mahou Sensei Negima!. This began a long-standing association with the Negima franchise, as she reprised the role of Natsumi Murakami in multiple subsequent series and OVAs, including Mahou Sensei Negima!: Shiroki Tsubasa Ala Alba, Mahou Sensei Negima!: Mō Hitotsu no Sekai, and the film Mahou Sensei Negima! Anime Final. Her first leading role came in 2009 as Yumemi Hidaka in the Kyoto Animation series Sora o Miageru Shōjo no Hitomi ni Utsuru Sekai.

Aizawa is well-recognized for several prominent roles. She voiced the energetic and explosive-obsessed Minene Uryū in the series Mirai Nikki and its OVA continuation, Mirai Nikki Redial. Another of her most celebrated performances is as Mio Naganohara in the critically acclaimed comedy series Nichijou, where she brought to life the character's deadpan reactions and explosive tsukkomi outbursts. Other significant roles include Ayano Minegishi in the popular series Lucky Star and its OVA, Alisa in Kiddy Girl-AND, and Catherine in Ring ni Kakero 1: Sekai Taikai-hen. In the original video animation (OVA) for Moe Can Change!, she played the role of Anna Moegi.

Beyond anime, Aizawa has an extensive career in video games. She is known for voicing Edea Lee in the critically acclaimed role-playing game Bravely Default and its sequel, Bravely Second: End Layer. She also provided the voice for the character Marie Rose in the popular fighting game Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate Arcade and its subsequent sequels. Her game credits also include roles in major franchises such as Rune Factory, the Yakuza series, Suikoden Tierkreis, and The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel.

In 2012, Aizawa expanded her career to include music, signing with the record label Victor Entertainment and releasing her debut digital single, KIMINITODOKE. The following year, she released her first album, titled moi. The album's cover art was illustrated by Ken Akamatsu, the creator of Negima!. Throughout her career, she has also performed character songs for series like Nichijou.

An interesting anecdote from her career involves the 2010 anime Super Robot Wars OG: The Inspector. A character in the series, Sawa Adzuki, was created based on Aizawa herself, with the character's name coming from her pet cat.
