Description
Natsumi Murakami is a student of class 3-A at Mahora Academy, the twenty-eighth student on the class roster. She is a sweet-natured but deeply shy girl who is a member of the school drama club and loves acting, though she struggles with low self-esteem and self-consciousness about her appearance. In the manga, she has freckles, and in both the manga and anime, she feels that her body is underdeveloped compared to her peers, which causes her to feel insecure and envious of more mature-looking classmates. Her hair is pink and cut to neck length, and she has green eyes.
She regularly describes herself as an ordinary middle-schooler with no special talents or magical abilities, and her lack of confidence often holds her back from fully exploring her potential. As a member of the drama club, she may have considerable acting talent, but her own insecurities keep her from recognizing or fully expressing it. Her motivation in the story is largely centered on a desire to be of use to those around her and to overcome her own sense of inadequacy.
Natsumi shares living quarters with Ayaka Yukihiro and Chizuru Naba, which becomes a source of further insecurity for her, as both roommates are more physically developed. When Kotaro Inugami begins living with them, Chizuru arranges for Kotaro to pose as Natsumi's younger brother, a role that Natsumi initially finds forced but gradually adapts to.
