Description
Setsuna Sakurazaki is a half-demon (hanyou) born to a human and a crow demon. Her distinctive white wings, contrasting her tribe's typical black plumage, suggest albinism and led to her exile as a perceived bad omen. Rescued by Eishun Konoe, she became the childhood friend and guardian of Konoka Konoe, daughter of the Kansai Magic Association's leader, at Mahora Academy. An incident where Konoka fell into a river and Setsuna failed to save her caused Setsuna to emotionally distance herself, strictly adhering to her protective role and addressing Konoka formally as "Ojō-sama".

A master of Kyoto Shinmei-ryū swordsmanship, she wields the nodachi "Yūnagi" gifted by Eishun. Her combat skills encompass anti-demon techniques and onmyō-jutsu, enabling her to create shikigami from paper dolls for reconnaissance or duplication. After forming a Pactio contract with Negi Springfield, her artifact "Sica Shishikushiro" manifests as a wakizashi capable of multiplying into 16 copies for simultaneous attacks. Her demon heritage remained secret until the Kyoto arc, where she transformed to rescue Konoka from the Great Demon God "Ryoumen Sukuna no Kami." Fearing rejection due to her clan's mandate to leave anyone witnessing her true form, Negi's intervention prevented her departure and mended her relationship with Konoka.

During the Mahora Festival, she joined Negi's Ala Alba (White Wing) brigade, training rigorously for missions. Her wings were later revealed to allies like Kaede and Kū Fei. She participated in the Mahora Martial Arts Tournament, facing Asuna, Evangeline, and Negi, and aided in thwarting Chao Lingshen's timeline-altering plans. In the Magic World arc, she protected Konoka from petrification during Fate Averruncus's ambush, using her wings as a shield. After the gateway's destruction scattered Ala Alba, she reunited with Asuna, witnessed Negi's battles, and regrouped at Ostia. She later fought Tsukuyomi, who exploited her emotional vulnerabilities and attempted public humiliation.

Setsuna's character evolves from a stoic guardian to a more open ally, though she retains formal speech with Konoka. Romantic subtext with Konoka persists, often denied by Setsuna despite accidental admissions. In the alternate *Negima!?* continuity, her wings derive from a Pactio artifact rather than demon heritage, and her interactions emphasize comedic or romantic overtones.
