Description
Principe Giovanni features in the Pinocchio adaptation within the anthology. A disobedient boy lured by Toyland's promise of endless amusement, Giovanni readily succumbs to the hedonistic environment, unlike Pinocchio who initially resists. His choice directly causes his physical metamorphosis into a donkey. Sold into labor, Giovanni suffers the consequences of his actions firsthand. His path to redemption begins when Pinocchio discovers him in his donkey form and aids him during a severe illness; this act of compassion reverses Giovanni's transformation.

The narrative uses Giovanni as a secondary character whose arc emphasizes accountability and reform. His experiences parallel Pinocchio's own struggles, contrasting their responses to temptation and their eventual outcomes. Giovanni's background prior to Toyland remains unspecified, with his development illustrating cause-and-effect dynamics rather than extensive personal history.
