Description
Shūji Sakaki is an esper and medical professional working for the organization B.A.B.E.L. Possessing a womanizing nature and an enjoyment of nightlife, he frequently flirts with female colleagues and various women, earning him a reputation as a Casanova; this trait sometimes distracts him from missions. He maintains a long-standing friendship with Kōichi Minamoto despite their contrasting personalities, a bond formed during university studies in Comerica after an initial altercation. Professionally, they collaborate effectively on assignments concerning "The Children" and covert investigations.

Sakaki exhibits a hot-blooded disposition during conflicts, leveraging his primary esper ability, psychometry, to anticipate opponents' movements. His medical expertise stems from psychometry applications, enabling precise diagnosis of physical and mental conditions and surgical proficiency. At age 22, he holds responsibility for higher-level espers' health within B.A.B.E.L. He extensively utilized psychometry during medical training for object and person analysis. Sakaki conceals a secondary psychokinesis power until critical situations arise, combining it with psychometry to manipulate bodily functions temporarily, preventing internal damage or death. In combat, he employs hand-to-hand techniques augmented by movement prediction, often wields an iron bar to extend his psychometric range, and demonstrates proficiency with firearms.

He harbors strong animosity toward Kyōsuke Hyōbu due to persistent hostilities against B.A.B.E.L., despite acknowledging Hyōbu's formidable powers. Over time, Sakaki establishes connections with certain P.A.N.D.R.A. members, notably Momiji Kanō and Yō Fujiura. Critical developments include Sakaki and Director Tsubomi Fujiko becoming official supporters for "The Children," earning him the codename "The Exploratory" in Volume 18 of the manga. He once flirted with Fujiko upon their initial meeting but ceased upon learning her age. A near-fatal incident occurs in Volume 31, where intervention by "The Children," Feather, and Kyōsuke Hyōbu prevents his death.

Physically, Sakaki stands 1.85 meters tall with black hair and grey eyes. His birthday falls on June 28, and he carries blood type A.
