Description
Shiho Sannomiya is a Level 7 esper, one of three known as "The Children," distinguished by chin-length purplish-white hair and violet eyes. She dons the standard Special Esper uniform with purple accents. Her personality merges high intelligence with biting sarcasm, a sharp tongue, and occasional childish sadism. This awareness of human darkness positions her as the trio's most mature member. Yet she harbors fierce protectiveness toward loved ones, unleashing lethal intensity when they face threats. Psychometry fuels her phobia of supernatural entities like ghosts and corpses, contrasting with a marked fascination for firearms and heavy artillery. She often conceals items like a fake grenade under her skirt. While she treasures genuine friendship and avoids probing serious thoughts of friends, she occasionally uses her powers for trivial or comedic insights.

Recruited by B.A.B.E.L. as child C-03, her early psychometry revealed her parents' fear of her uncontrollable abilities, leading her to accept transfer at age 4 or 5. At B.A.B.E.L., she initially clashed with Aoi Nogami, invasively reading her thoughts out of boredom and irritation at Aoi's perceived normalcy. The trio solidified with Kaoru Akashi's arrival. Shiho later acknowledged guilt over failing to emotionally support Kaoru during their younger years, particularly in the Middle School arc.

Her psychometry extracts data—personal histories, physical states, or events—from objects, people, or animals via touch. She detects enemy movements through ground contact and executes "psycho dives" to bypass mental barriers, though prolonged use risks permanent psychological harm. Touching weapons grants flawless accuracy; handling vehicles enables instant expertise. She also unlocks and wields esper powers stored in rare metals at Level 7 capacity.

Standard gear includes a limiter ring suppressing her to Level 4. Combat tools feature a hand pistol for perfect shots and a later nanotube wire gun that ensnares targets, allows psychometric reading through wires, and delivers shocks or tranquilizers. Grenades strapped to her thigh supplement her arsenal.

Relationships anchor her: she shares profound trust with Kaoru and Aoi, enduring even Kaoru's defection to PANDRA. Supervisor Kōichi Minamoto earned her initial trust by touching her fearlessly, sparking intense protectiveness and romantic feelings that later shift to support for his bond with Kaoru. She openly despises fellow psychometrist Shūji Sakaki for his condescension, provoking him despite latent concern.

Aging from 10 to 13, her hair lengthens and emotional maturity deepens. Initially joining Kaoru and Aoi in pursuing Minamoto romantically, she eventually steps aside to champion Kaoru's relationship. Unwavering loyalty and nuanced understanding of human complexity define her journey.
