Description
Panflam, referred to as Chimchar in English-language media, features in animated adaptations of the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon series. This Fire-type Pokémon establishes an exploration team with a Piplup, a former human. Their partnership begins when Panflam finds the amnesiac Piplup stranded on a beach and suggests joining Wigglytuff's Guild to investigate Piplup's transformation and pursue exploration.
Registration at the guild formalizes their team, named "Poképals." Panflam actively engages in guild missions, including one to Labyrinth Cave to retrieve a Gabite Scale for a sick Shinx, accompanied by Sunflora, demonstrating his team-based problem-solving.
Panflam possesses a significant artifact, the Relic Fragment, its mysterious pattern matching inscriptions at the Hidden Land's Old Ruins. This connection leads Guildmaster Wigglytuff to assign Panflam and Piplup the critical mission concerning Temporal Tower.
Their journey to restore time's flow involves traveling via Lapras to the Hidden Land. Accompanied by Grovyle, Panflam discovers Temporal Tower's collapse and Primal Dialga's emergence, realizing the Time Gears must be restored to the tower's mouthpiece despite the confrontation with Dialga required.
At the Old Ruins, Panflam attempts to activate the Rainbow Stoneship using the Relic Fragment. Ambushed by Dusknoir and Sableye, who steal the fragment, Panflam coordinates counterattacks with Piplup and Grovyle, combining moves like Flamethrower, Hydro Pump, and Energy Ball to repel the foes. After retrieving the fragment, Panflam rushes to activate the Stoneship, urging his teammates to hurry.
Dusknoir later reveals that restoring time will erase future Pokémon, including their future selves, a consequence Panflam remains unaware of during their initial clash. When Dusknoir attacks Panflam during the activation attempt, Piplup intercepts the Relic Fragment, and Grovyle sacrifices himself to protect the team, showcasing Panflam's persistence amid escalating stakes.
