TV Special
Description
Kimawari, known as Sunflora in English-language media, serves as an apprentice in Wigglytuff's Guild. Having joined significantly earlier than the player character and their partner, she holds seniority among the apprentices, sometimes finding newer recruits "cute" due to their relative youth.
Her relationship with fellow guild member Loudred is notably strained. This friction originates from an incident where Loudred's impulsive actions during a dungeon exploration led to their defeat and ejection, causing them to lose items and money. This experience made Kimawari express strong reluctance about partnering with Loudred again, frequently directing rude remarks his way. However, her documented thoughts reveal a shift triggered by a critical mission.
Selected for a high-stakes mission to apprehend the seemingly invincible outlaw Haunter in the special episode "Today's 'Oh My Gosh'", Kimawari confronted him twice. Each time, a blinding flash followed by his instant recovery maintained his illusion. Pursuing Haunter led her into an ambush by two Slugma. Loudred intervened and rescued her. Though initially upset by his claim that Chatot ordered the help, Kimawari later deduced Haunter's secret—multiple clones creating the illusion—from Loudred's offhand comment about arriving with full strength.
Tracking Haunter to Steam Cave's depths, Kimawari exposed the scheme involving three cooperating outlaws. They revealed luring her there to exploit her Grass-type vulnerability to the underlying magma. Loudred returned unexpectedly, and together they defeated and arrested the Haunter. Following this success, Kimawari received a Sun Scarf to mitigate her Fire-type weakness. More crucially, she learned Loudred had volunteered to assist her, contradicting his earlier statement. This prompted her to sincerely thank him, marking a turning point. Her diary entries confirm she warmed up to Loudred, regretted her earlier harsh words, and acknowledged his reliability, though some sarcastic remarks toward him persisted.
Her personality bursts with high energy, punctuated by frequent exclamations like "Oh my gosh" and "Eek!". She maintains a detailed diary documenting guild events, game mechanics tips, and personal reflections, occasionally breaking the fourth wall by addressing potential readers. Beneath this excitable demeanor lies kindness and loyalty, evidenced when she and other guild members secretly saved portions of their dinner for the player and partner after they were denied a meal. Her diary covers topics from dungeon exploration basics and type matchups—where she emphasizes the danger Fire-types pose to her—to guild mysteries and her aspirations to join expeditions. These entries provide insight into her growing maturity, observational skills, and deep care for her teammates.
