Description
Mirai Andō is a 14-year-old lightning demon inhabiting a human form as a student at Miyasaka High School. She is the daughter of the powerful lightning demon Indra, hailing from an upper-class demonic bloodline. Initially dispatched to assassinate Gekkou Kurenai, Mirai was defeated by his exorcism sword, Spell Error. Rather than destroy her, Gekkou forged a contractual pact that binds her to his service. This contract suppresses the majority of her inherent demonic powers, requiring Gekkou's explicit permission—granted via a kiss to her forehead or cheek—to unlock them.

Her appearance shifts between states. In her default human guise, she possesses brown hair. When Gekkou activates her powers, her hair transforms to gold or blonde, frequently tipped with purple or blue, while her body becomes enveloped in a vortex of lightning. She maintains the petite, youthful form of a girl despite her true demonic age.

Mirai exhibits a highly energetic, boisterous, and childlike personality. She is frequently loud, clingy towards Gekkou, and easily excitable or irritated, especially by his dismissive attitude. She often displays jealousy towards other girls interacting with him. Despite Gekkou regularly insulting her as "scum," she harbors deep affection and loyalty, eagerly anticipating moments when he needs her powers or offers rare kindness.

Notably naive and gullible, Mirai believes nearly anything told to her. This trait leads her to inadvertently reveal secrets or participate in foolish actions, often prompted by others like Izumi Aomi. Her innocence extends to a fear of ghosts and anything perceived as spooky. Outside combat or student council duties, she enjoys reading manga, drawing simplistic pictures reminiscent of a child's artwork, consuming large amounts of ice cream and curry, and drinking Dr. Cinnamon soda.

Serving on the student council alongside Gekkou, Taito Kurogane, and Himea Saito, Mirai develops a close friendship with Himea, whom she calls "Hime-chan." She finds amusement in Taito's regenerative immortality, nicknaming him "Immortal-kun." In combat, when Gekkou unseals her abilities against supernatural threats, she unleashes high-voltage lightning attacks, often exclaiming "Biri Biri."

An OVA incident highlights her careless nature: she consumed a forbidden potion without permission, triggering a body-swapping chain reaction among the main cast upon physical contact. Her background reveals a life transformed from assassin to bound servant. Tasked with killing Gekkou, she instead became magically contracted to him, trading autonomy for survival and a new purpose protecting the Holy Ground beneath Miyasaka High. Her development centers on navigating human relationships, managing her sealed power, and reconciling her demonic origins with her childish demeanor.
