Iori Nomizu
Description
Iori Nomizu is a Japanese actress, voice actress, and singer born on October 18, 1985. Originally from Gunma Prefecture, she was raised in Sapporo, Hokkaido. Her career in entertainment began in 2005 with a role in the live-action drama series Densha Otoko, which was followed by a part in the 2006 drama Akihabara@Deep. After a period as a freelance writer and composer, she joined the agency Production Ace in 2009 to focus on voice acting. In February 2021, she announced her departure from Production Ace and has since continued her career as a freelancer.
Nomizu's voice acting debut came in 2009 with a defining role as the angeloid Nymph in the anime series Heaven's Lost Property. This character is frequently cited as one of her most representative performances. She is also widely recognized for her long-running role as the shy spirit Yoshino Himekawa (often referred to simply as Yoshino) in the popular Date A Live franchise, a character she has voiced across multiple seasons including Date A Live III, Date A Live IV, and Date A Live V. Another signature role is the magical girl Haruna in the Is This a Zombie? series.
Her career features a wide range of other notable anime roles. She played the energetic Inaho Kushiya in the Maken-ki! series and the boisterous Black Rabbit (Kuro Usagi) in Problem children are coming from another world, aren't they?. In 2012, she formed the voice actor unit sweet ARMS with Misuzu Togashi, Kaori Sadohara, and Misato, who were her co-stars in the series Upotte!!. Her musical style is sometimes described as incorporating gothic and dark fantasy elements. As a lyricist, she has also written songs under the pen name "Kurodo Jinsei". Her multifaceted career demonstrates a sustained involvement in the anime industry both in front of the microphone as a voice actress and as a musical performer.
