Description
Mirai Andō is a lightning demon of noble lineage who assumes the form of a 14-year-old girl. Initially appearing as a student at Miyasaka High School, she was dispatched to assassinate Gekkou Kurenai on orders from his twin brother, Hinata Kurenai. This mission fails when Gekkou overpowers her, forcibly establishing a magical contract through a kiss that binds her to him and seals away the bulk of her demonic powers. Consequently, she cannot access her full abilities without Gekkou's explicit permission, granted via another kiss.

Physically, Mirai has brown hair with rose-colored tips in her default state. When Gekkou authorizes her power release, her hair transforms dramatically to gold with purple tips, and her body becomes enveloped in a vortex of lightning. This activated form signifies the restoration of her capabilities as an upper-class demon. Her personality is characterized by cheerfulness, optimism, and a childlike innocence marked by curiosity. She exhibits excitability and a boisterous nature, often clashing with Gekkou’s reserved demeanor, creating friction. Despite this dynamic, she harbors deep affection for Gekkou and actively seeks his attention and approval. Her interests include reading manga and drawing.

Within the narrative, Mirai’s role transforms dramatically after forming the contract. She becomes Gekkou’s familiar and partner, aiding the Student Council in protecting Miyasaka High, which sits atop a dimensional intersection known as the Holy Ground. This duty involves defending against supernatural threats emerging from other dimensions. Her loyalty to Gekkou remains steadfast, even as their relationship oscillates between antagonism and mutual dependence. Her interactions extend to other central characters, including Taito Kurogane, whom she encounters early on when he sacrifices himself to save her from an oncoming truck—an event triggering his resurgent memories and immortal abilities.

Her background as a high-ranking demon highlights her latent potential, yet her reliance on Gekkou’s consent for power usage defines much of her involvement. This contractual limitation shapes her actions throughout the series, positioning her as both a formidable ally when unsealed and a vulnerable figure when restricted.
