Description
Kuro Usagi, or Black Rabbit, is a Moon Rabbit and Aristocrat of Little Garden. Approximately 200 years old, she presents as an attractive young woman with long blue hair that shifts to bright pink during heightened emotional states or combat readiness, complemented by distinctive rabbit ears and red eyes. Her standard attire consists of a black collar with white frills, a double-breasted thigh-length vest, a red mini skirt, black stockings with garters, red shoes, and large wrist cuffs. The skirt incorporates a gift from Shiroyasha preventing onlookers from seeing underneath, worn in exchange for a thirty percent increase in her referee pay. She possesses an extensive home wardrobe, including outfits provided or forced upon her by Shiroyasha.

Her personality blends earnest loyalty with a tendency towards easily triggered fluster. Typically upbeat and cheerful, she transforms into intense focus during serious situations. A naturally compassionate and selfless nature defines her, frequently leading to willingness for self-sacrifice—a trait exploited by adversaries like Laius Perseus, who nearly manipulated her into joining his community to secure Leticia's freedom. While generally calm under pressure, she exhibits violent reactions when pushed beyond her limits, such as nearly declaring war on the Perseus community after Leticia's petrification. She occasionally underestimates others but acknowledges her errors when proven wrong.

Potentially the last surviving Moon Rabbit following an attack by the Demon Lord Azi Dahaka, her backstory involves a disrupted naming ceremony at age ten where she was to inherit four divine gifts as the tribe's heiress. Rescued by Canaria, Leticia, and the Lion of the Sun, she was later adopted by Canaria and integrated into the community. Three years before summoning the protagonists, her community "No Name" lost its name and banner to a Demon Lord's Gift Game victory, resulting in the capture of core members. This left her responsible for 120 children alongside Jin Russel and Lily. To sustain the community and seek restoration, she worked for Shiroyasha's "Thousand Eyes" and dispatched letters summoning individuals with powerful gifts to Little Garden.

Her story centers on summoning Izayoi Sakamaki, Asuka Kudō, and Yō Kasukabe. Initially concealing her community's dire situation, she revealed the truth after Izayoi secured a Water Tree sapling—a critical resource for "No Name’s" survival. She guided the trio through early Gift Games, including a demonstration game they subverted, and facilitated their appraisal at Thousand Eyes where Shiroyasha sexually harassed her. She refereed the Fores Garo battle remotely using her enhanced hearing but evacuated the injured Yō for healing afterward.

When Leticia Draculair—a former "No Name" member turned slave—was petrified and seized by the Perseus community, Kuro Usagi nearly unleashed the Spear of Indra in retaliation, halted only by Izayoi's intervention. During negotiations with Laius Perseus, she considered exchanging herself for Leticia’s freedom, a plan opposed by Asuka. Izayoi circumvented this by providing trophies from defeating the Kraken and Graeae, enabling Kuro Usagi to formally challenge Perseus. As the Judge Master during the subsequent Gift Game, she announced "No Name’s" victory after Izayoi defeated Algol. Post-battle, she celebrated Leticia’s revival and accepted the vampire’s decision to serve as the community’s maid.

Her abilities include the "Judge Master" gift for refereeing Gift Games, combat prowess wielding the lightning-controlling Spear of Indra, enhanced leg strength matching Izayoi’s speed, and innate moon rabbit traits like accelerated healing. Her hair color shift signifies power activation, boosting her physical capabilities. Her relationship with the summoned trio evolved from instrumental necessity to deeply communal bonds, notably evidenced when Izayoi identified her as his most attractive companion in volume five, causing visible fluster. This development underscores her transition from a burdened caretaker to a resilient figure within a revitalizing community.
