Description
Kaizō Katsu underwent a profound transformation triggered by a specific incident at age seven. Before this event, he functioned as a recognized child prodigy. His trajectory shifted dramatically when a physical altercation resulted in a fall from playground equipment, fracturing his skull—an injury directly caused by his childhood companion, Umi Natori. This head trauma precipitated a fundamental shift in his cognition and behavior, replacing his former intellectual pursuits with an intense preoccupation with paranormal phenomena, extraterrestrial concepts, and elaborate conspiracy theories.

Approximately a decade later, a second pivotal event occurred in an educational setting. An impact from a falling anatomical model rendered him unconscious, requiring revival via defibrillator. This incident catalyzed a persistent delusion: he perceived himself as having been reconstructed into a cybernetic entity. He credited Suzu Saien, president of the scientific academic club, as the architect of this imagined transformation. Suzu actively nurtured this misconception for personal diversion, leading to his integration into the science club. His presence became a persistent source of disruption, particularly for Umi Natori and fellow club member Chitan Tsubouchi.

His behavior is defined by extreme credulity, interpreting mundane events as evidence of elaborate alien schemes or supernatural interventions. This worldview occasionally intersects with reality in unexpected ways, leading to the occasional validation of his unconventional theories. Interpersonally, he employs dramatic gestures, especially emphatic pointing during declarations. Within the club, he unilaterally assigns roles, such as designating Chitan Tsubouchi as a subordinate operative, often requiring specialized attire.

Prior to his initial injury, he attended the Genius Cram School, an institution for exceptional juveniles proficient in unconventional, non-traditional disciplines. During a post-traumatic disoriented state, his accidental combination of volatile chemical substances precipitated the facility's catastrophic destruction. This event scattered its former attendees—many exhibiting pronounced idiosyncrasies exceeding his own—into his subsequent environment, where they regularly intersect with his activities, contributing to complex dynamics.

A significant reinterpretation of his narrative emerges in the concluding sequences. This revelation recontextualizes the established events as an elaborate psychological construct developed within a clinical psychiatric setting. Here, he and Umi Natori were patients undergoing therapeutic intervention, with Suzu Saien as their supervising clinician. Their therapy involved constructing an intricate model municipality with miniature figures, which evolved into an immersive imagined reality inhabited by their projected identities. Successful therapeutic resolution culminated in their discharge and a subsequent cohabitation arrangement in external society, marking the end of their institutionalization.
