OVA
Description
Yuri Minami is a teacher at Seitei Gakuen Academy, an elite institution known for its high-achieving students. She takes on the challenge of teaching Class X, a group of problematic students called the B6 who have driven away all previous instructors. Her primary goal is to ensure these students graduate to maintain the school’s reputation.
In her second year of teaching, Yuri is a dedicated educator with a strong sense of responsibility. She employs a straightforward, sometimes tsukkomi-like approach to handle her unruly class, demonstrating persistence and care. She often goes to great lengths to understand and help her students, believing in their potential despite their difficult behavior.
She develops unique relationships with each member of the B6. With Tsubasa Makabe, the wealthy and spoiled leader, she uses a firm hand to challenge his belief that money can solve everything, even physically slapping sense into him on occasion. Their relationship evolves into a romantic one, culminating in Tsubasa confessing and declaring her his girlfriend after he graduates. With Hajime Kusanagi, a delinquent who has a poor memory but a kind heart toward animals, she supports him through a past misunderstanding involving a false accusation, which leads to his eventual vindication.
Her methods include organizing the students to clean up their messes and participate in school events like the Gakuensai, though their actions often lead to further trouble. She receives support from other faculty members, such as Katsuragi-sensei, in her efforts to manage the class.
In an alternate universe spin-off, Yuri is portrayed as the chief of a detective agency where the B6 are her employees. In this role, she oversees the solving of various cases, from finding lost cats to investigating infidelity, ultimately tackling a larger conspiracy involving art thieves and a corrupt mayor. This version maintains her leadership qualities and close working relationship with the B6, who take on various town jobs while assisting with investigations.
Across media, Yuri progresses from a determined but inexperienced teacher to a confident educator who successfully guides her students to graduation, and alternatively, to a competent detective agency chief. Her relationships with the students deepen, moving from professional concern to genuine care and, in some cases, romantic involvement.
