Description
Asuka Watarai, a high school student in Yanagihara City, enlists classmate Takashi Haneda as her faux boyfriend to deflect unwanted attention, unaware their calculated arrangement will entangle her in the labyrinth of his dissociative identity disorder. Her own childhood experience with a now-resolved split personality fuels a determined empathy, driving her to unravel Takashi’s struggles even as his alternate personas materialize as distinct entities around them.

Kobato Haneda, Takashi’s sister, guards cryptic insights into his condition, her reticence deepening the shadows around Asuka’s quest for clarity. When inconsistencies in Takashi’s behavior culminate in a fraught confrontation, Asuka unearths fragments of his fractured reality—including the crumbling fantasy realm of Gretagard, born from a childhood video game, *Wing Quest*. Its collapse thrusts Takashi into turmoil, compelling Asuka to anchor him through the storm.

Her resolve weaves through themes of loyalty and resilience, transforming pragmatic beginnings into unwavering dedication. Moments of vulnerability—like the sting of jealousy upon encountering his alternate identities—underscore her evolution from strategic ally to emotional cornerstone. While intersecting with broader narratives, her journey remains tightly braided with Takashi’s fragmented psyche, her tenacity a constant amid the chaos of his unraveling and reconstruction.
