Description
Kanade Minamino is a 14-year-old second-year at Private Aria Academy, celebrated for her academic prowess and popularity. Her family runs the Lucky Spoon pastry shop, fueling her ambition to become a patissière and inherit the business. She exhibits exceptional baking skills and joins the school's Sweets Club. Kanade balances maturity and calmness with deep-seated stubbornness, often refusing to admit mistakes and setting lofty personal goals driven by hidden insecurities. She harbors an intense obsession with cats, particularly their paws.

Her childhood centered around a close bond with Hibiki Hojo, forged through shared visits to an old church where they listened to music and sang. This friendship shattered during their middle school entrance ceremony when each waited under separate cherry trees, mistakenly believing the other abandoned their meeting promise, leading to years of estrangement.

Kanade transforms into Cure Rhythm after revisiting the church, where Siren (as Ellen) and the Trio the Minor target her G Clef emblem. When their cherished music record becomes a Negatone, their mutual outrage activates Cure Modules. Guided by fairy Hummy, Kanade uses the White Fairy Tone Rery to transform, declaring, "Playing the graceful tune, Cure Rhythm!" Her alter ego sports platinum blonde knee-length braided hair, lighter green eyes, a white-and-pink frilled dress with boots and cuffs. She wields the Fantastic Belltier weapon, activated by the Fairy Tone Fary.

Early battles as Cure Rhythm faltered due to unresolved friction with Hibiki (Cure Melody), as their synchronization required repaired trust. They reconciled after helping children resolve a conflict under the same cherry tree, mirroring their past. This breakthrough unlocked their joint Passionato Harmony attack. Kanade evolves into a maternal figure within the team, though her stern concern occasionally strains relationships until her intentions are understood. Her quiet romantic interest in school musician Ouji Masamune reveals moments of vulnerability.

Cure Rhythm’s abilities include solo attacks Music Rondo and Fantastic Piacere, plus team techniques: Passionato Harmony (with Cure Melody), Suite Session Ensemble (with Cure Melody and Cure Beat), and Music Rondo Super Quartet (full team using CrossRod-enhanced Belltiers). Her powered-up forms include:
- **Super Cure Rhythm**: Longer hair, extended boots/skirt, and small angelic wings.
- **Crescendo Cure Rhythm**: Large golden wings, feather accessories, and a simplified cape-like skirt.

In *Take it back! The Miraculous Melody that Connects Hearts!*, Kanade is captured by villain Howling. Witnessing Hibiki’s defeat and resurgence as Crescendo Cure Melody, they jointly execute Passionato Harmony Crescendo to purify Howling.

A sequel novel set one year later follows Kanade at culinary school while Hibiki prepares for music studies abroad. When entity Vanish brainwashes Hibiki by exploiting her separation anxiety, Kanade collaborates with the team to restore her will. They regain Cure powers with fairy aid to defeat Vanish, cementing their unbreakable bond.

Notable traits include being the first blonde Cure without pigtails, the only Suite Cure with a sibling (younger brother Souta), and her unique platinum blonde/green-eyed white-and-pink color scheme. She ranked first in *Pretty Cure All Stars DX3* polls for "Favorite Pretty Cure" and "The Pretty Cure you want to bake with most."
