Misato Tachibana is a high school student attending Tokisadame High School. She has peach-colored hair and brown eyes, and she is a member of the kendo club. Her most defining trait is her intense but unadmitted crush on classmate Koujirou Sasahara. Despite genuinely liking him, she reacts to his presence or any mention of his name with extreme hostility, often denying any romantic interest even when no accusation has been made. This denial frequently escalates into physical violence: Misato’s embarrassment and frustration manifest in the sudden appearance of guns, rocket launchers, and other heavy weaponry, which she fires at Koujirou. He miraculously survives these attacks, though he is left dazed and covered in dust.

Misato’s personality is a classic tsundere archetype, but exaggerated to surreal comedic extremes. She is generally amiable and polite toward other people, but around Koujirou she becomes flustered, angry, and defensive. She has a tendency to steer any conversation back to him in a way that forces her to loudly deny things like marriage or children that nobody has actually brought up. This behavior is a source of much of her screen time.

She is part of a close-knit trio of friends that includes Fe-chan and Weboshii, with whom she often spends time. Misato also has an older sister named Mihoshi Tachibana. Her role in the story is that of a supporting character whose interactions with Koujirou provide recurring comedic gags. She does not undergo significant character development over the course of the series; her traits and dynamics remain consistent, serving the episodic, slice-of-life nature of the show. Her notable abilities, aside from her kendo skills, include the unexplained capacity to produce an arsenal of guns and explosives from nowhere, which she wields with surprising proficiency.
