Description
Yuusei Kondou serves as a police detective in Tokyo and is Seleção participant No. IV, one of twelve individuals chosen by Mr. Outside for a game to save Japan. As a Seleção member, he possesses a specialized cell phone loaded with 10 billion yen in digital currency. This phone connects him to the concierge service Juiz, who fulfills requests for payment. Rules mandate elimination by a Supporter if funds are depleted or used for selfish purposes.

Kondou displays significant moral corruption. He accepts bribes and accrues substantial debts with criminal organizations, leading to confrontations where mobsters demand repayment or the destruction of evidence. To resolve one such encounter, he contacts Juiz to eliminate the pursuing mobsters and an unintended bystander, demonstrating his willingness to employ lethal means for self-preservation. Personally, he maintains a marriage with his wife, Misae, while also conducting an affair with an undisclosed mistress.

His Seleção involvement intersects with protagonist Akira Takizawa (Seleção No. IX) after Kondou ignores a police bulletin to investigate Takizawa’s finances. He tracks Takizawa to a converted mall residence and deduces Takizawa’s role in relocating 20,000 NEETs during the "Careless Monday" missile incident. Confronting Takizawa in the mall’s projection room, Kondou assaults him and steals his cell phone, intending to transfer Takizawa’s remaining 8.2 billion yen. He warns Takizawa about the Supporter before departing.

The theft fails when Juiz informs Kondou that the phones are biometrically locked, preventing fund transfers. While attempting to text his mistress in a parking lot, Kondou accidentally messages his wife instead. She intercepts him, resulting in a violent confrontation where she fatally stabs him. Takizawa discovers the dying Kondou and seeks information and his phone’s return. With his final breaths, Kondou reveals the existence of ten other Seleção members and explains that transaction histories between participants can be accessed through the phones. This information becomes pivotal for Takizawa’s subsequent actions.
