Description
Henri Lucas, grandson of St. Marie Academy's founder Marie Lucas, is a world-class patissier and lecturer at the prestigious pastry institution. Initially stationed at its Japan Branch, he later transferred to the Paris main campus under unspecified circumstances. His expertise earned him dual recognition as a "master of sweets" and a "master of dance."

Outwardly calm, collected, and gentlemanly, Henri reveals a cunning, calculated approach in mentorship. He engineers strategic challenges to foster student growth, such as feigning a romantic connection with François Adjani during the Cake Grand Prix semi-finals to test Mari Tennouji's emotional resilience—causing her loss but intending to break her dependence on his approval. Similarly, he antagonized Ichigo Amano during the Grand Prix to motivate her potential to surpass her grandmother, his grandfather's former pupil. His Season 2 criticism of Mari's shop-running abilities aimed to strengthen her resolve.

Henri first noticed Ichigo at a sweets festival when she identified the inspiration behind his "Marie Reine" creation after one bite. Impressed by her exceptional palate and sensitivity, he invited her to enroll at St. Marie Academy. He maintained consistent interest in her development, later forming a new team for her in Season 2 under his "Marie's Garden" project—an international sweets park initiative. The team, including Ichigo, Makoto Kashino, Lemon Yamagishi, and Johnny McBeal, managed a real pastry shop to learn commercial operations alongside culinary skills.

His mentorship prioritizes emotional and professional independence, exemplified by relocating Mari to oversee a New York branch of his project to challenge her self-reliance. Though his methods involve manipulation and apparent cruelty, they prepare students for the pastry industry's realities. As Marie Lucas's heir and a figure across the academy's Japanese and French branches, his actions perpetuate his grandmother's educational legacy.
