Arima Teppei, originally named Kobayashi Teppei, is the main protagonist. He grew up happily with his parents, who ran a noodle shop, until their deaths in a car accident irrevocably changed his life. He was then adopted by his maternal grandfather, Isshin Arima, the head of the powerful Arima Financial Combine. As his mother was the original heir, Isshin groomed Teppei to become the corporation's successor. Teppei accepted this role, driven in part by the hope that his grandfather's influence could help him uncover the truth behind his parents' murder and exact revenge. In preparation for his future, Teppei was sent to the prestigious Shuuhou Gakuen, a private school for the wealthy. Her loyalty to the Arima family was unwavering, and she admired Teppei’s kindness toward his friends, nurturing tender feelings for him. Teppei is kind, altruistic, and brave, though occasionally clumsy. A skilled swordsman, he specializes in quick-drawing techniques. His appearance features black hair with a slight purple tint, violet eyes, a slim and tall build, and a pale complexion. He is most often seen wearing his school uniform. Across adaptations, his story follows his navigation of elite society, his complex relationships with the women drawn to him, and his pursuit of justice for his parents. The anime concludes with a rescue mission to save Charlotte, during which Sylvia confesses her love. The adult OVA offers an alternate portrayal, focusing on his relationship with Sylvia and revealing a more dominant, sadistic side in intimate contexts. The original visual novel branches based on player decisions, leading to various romantic conclusions with each heroine, including marriage and children in certain routes.
