TV-Series
Description
Asuka Domon, known as Bobby Shearer in some English adaptations, is a supporting character in the original Inazuma Eleven series. His early life was spent in the United States, where he was a childhood friend of Aki Kino, Kazuya Ichinose, and Mamoru Nishigaki. The four of them often played soccer together until a serious accident involving Ichinose led Domon to believe his friend had died. This traumatic event caused him to develop a strong aversion to the sport for a period.

Following this tragedy, Domon eventually returned to Japan and enrolled at Teikoku Gakuen, also known as Royal Academy. He was recruited by the team's shadowy coach, Kageyama Reiji, to act as a spy. His mission was to transfer to Raimon Junior High, infiltrate its soccer club, and gather information to help Teikoku maintain its dominance. When he first appears at Raimon, Domon presents a somewhat flippant and laid-back exterior, but this masks a more conflicted and serious nature. However, by playing and training alongside Raimon's determined captain, Endou Mamoru, Domon begins to rediscover the joy of soccer. He is particularly moved by Endou's ability to run alongside his teammates, a stark contrast to his childhood feeling of always chasing after the more gifted Ichinose. This experience causes him to feel guilty about his espionage, and he ultimately abandons his mission. He exposes the plans of another Teikoku spy, Coach Fuyukai, who intended to sabotage Raimon's team bus, and confesses his own role as a spy to the team. Despite the initial betrayal, Endou and the rest of Raimon forgive him, and he officially joins the team as a defender, wearing the number 13 jersey.

As a member of Raimon, Domon proves to be a reliable and dedicated player who cares deeply for the sport and does not want to see anyone get hurt. He serves as a key defender, known for his physical style of play and his willingness to put his body on the line for the team. During the critical match against Teikoku in the Football Frontier finals, he famously deflected a powerful shot with his face, an act that required him to be substituted due to injury. Throughout the first season, he rekindles his partnership with a miraculously alive Ichinose, who has also come to Japan, and together with Endou they develop powerful combination hissatsu techniques. These include Tri-Pegasus and its evolved form, The Phoenix. He is also part of the trio that performs Death Zone with Endou and Kidou Yuuto.

When the alien-influenced team Aliea Gakuen threatens all of Japanese soccer, Domon remains a steadfast member of Raimon. He is one of the few players who trusts their new coach, Hitomiko, and follows her to Mount Fuji for special training. In the decisive match against The Genesis, Aliea's strongest team, Domon participates in the evolution of his technique, using Death Zone 2 with Endou and Kidou to score a crucial goal.

In the third season, as the Football Frontier International tournament approaches, Domon and Ichinose return to the United States to play for the national team, Unicorn. Domon takes on the role of a key defender for the American team. During this arc, he displays great personal loyalty by hiding the fact that Ichinose's old injury has not fully healed, respecting his friend's desire to compete. In the match against Inazuma Japan, Domon shows how much he has grown, using evolved versions of his defensive techniques like Volcano Cut V2 to try and stop his former teammates' powerful shots.

Domon is physically distinctive; he is tall and thin with a long face, light blue or ash-green spiky hair, and tanned skin. His personality balances a relaxed, easygoing attitude with a fierce loyalty and a strong sense of protectiveness towards his friends. His key relationships are with his childhood friends: the gifted Ichinose, whom he both admires and felt inferior to, and Aki, for whom there are ambiguous hints of a potential romantic affection later in the series. His most significant bond, however, is with Endou Mamoru, whose leadership and inclusive spirit restored Domon's love for soccer and gave him a place where he felt he could truly belong. His notable abilities are primarily defensive, including the sliding tackle Killer Slide and the blocking technique Volcano Cut, as well as several combination shots like The Phoenix and Death Zone 2.
