Description
Bandhaka is an arrogant archer appearing in the source material's first two volumes. He harbors romantic feelings for Princess Yashodara, Siddhartha's cousin, and competes against Siddhartha for her hand in marriage. After Siddhartha departs the palace to pursue enlightenment, Bandhaka seizes the opportunity, persuading Siddhartha's father to designate him as heir to the Shakyan throne. Despite gaining this political status, Bandhaka fails to secure Yashodara's affection. He subsequently marries a noblewoman described as plump, and they have a son named Devadatta. Bandhaka meets his end leading the Shakyan forces in battle against the invading army of Kosala.
