Description
Daisuke Kōsaka is the father of Kyousuke and Kirino Kōsaka and husband to Yoshino Kōsaka. As a high-ranking police officer, his profession reinforces a strict adherence to rules and factual evidence. He appears as a middle-aged man with tanned skin, swept-back hair, and a menacing glare sharpened by frameless eyeglasses. At home, he favors traditional Japanese yukata and occasionally sips sake to ease tension.

Rigid and traditional in values, Daisuke imposes strict conditions on his children, particularly Kirino—permitting her modeling career only if she maintains academic excellence and earns her own income. He harbors intense disapproval of otaku culture, deeming it corruptive. Despite this stern exterior, he demonstrates genuine care for his family. He secretly preserves pictures and articles of Kirino’s achievements, revealing hidden pride. He also deeply distrusts Kirino’s male acquaintances, once preparing to confront one he mistakenly believed was her boyfriend.

Conflict erupts when Daisuke discovers a hidden eroge game, assuming it belongs to Kirino. A heated argument ensues where Kirino nearly strikes him with a crystal ashtray before storming out. Daisuke confronts Kyousuke, demanding he stop Kirino’s hobby. When Kyousuke claims ownership of the game to protect her, Daisuke punches him in rage. Yet he ultimately relents, leaving Kirino’s hobby management to the siblings.

Daisuke’s underlying trust in Kyousuke emerges when he temporarily expels him from home, requiring a top university exam score for return—a condition reflecting his belief in Kyousuke’s capability. This action also subtly addresses his concerns about Kirino and Kyousuke’s closeness. Aware Kyousuke lied about owning the eroge, Daisuke allows Kirino’s hobby to continue, relying on Kyousuke to safeguard her.

Throughout official media, his development remains minimal, sustaining core traits of authoritarianism tempered by familial loyalty. He intervenes decisively in Kirino’s affairs, such as her abrupt choice to discard otaku merchandise in America, underscoring his protective instincts.
