Description
Jin Kuzuhara commands Nue, a covert Tokugawa shogunate agency in an alternate 1931 Japan. He has a large build, fair skin, mid-length black hair, and distinctive yellow eyes. He dresses in layered, neutral-toned clothing: a cream shirt, brown vest, green-gray tie, and a black trench coat.
Originally an orphan named Iori Makabe, he rose to become Nue's director. Jin maintains a stern, serious, and often emotionless exterior, though his actions are frequently motivated by deep-seated emotions concerning specific individuals and events. A pivotal moment in his past involved carrying out orders to exterminate the Karasumori clan for their rare "blue blood," granting transformative abilities. Despite prior feelings for her mother, he spared the young Sawa Karasumori (later Sawa Yukimura). Discovering her burying her family, he took responsibility for training her as a Nue executioner, an act of atonement.
Jin directs assassination operations against anti-government dissidents and discreetly eliminates executioners deemed obsolete or treasonous. His loyalty to protecting Shogun Yoshinobu Tokugawa is absolute, yet he privately expresses disagreement with Nue's violent methods, revealing internal conflict.
