Description
Minato Namikaze, the Fourth Hokage famed as "Konoha's Yellow Flash," spearheads a critical mission to the ancient ruins of Rōran roughly two decades before *Naruto Shippūden: The Lost Tower*. Third Hokage Hiruzen Sarutobi tasks Minato and his team – Shibi Aburame, Chōza Akimichi, and Kakashi Hatake – with sabotaging rogue ninja Anrokuzan's scheme. Anrokuzan seeks to harness the powerful Ryūmyaku chakra flow beneath Rōran to conquer the Five Great Shinobi Countries.

This mission unfolds before Minato's ascension to Hokage, shortly after he perfected the Rasengan. He executes his duties with strategic focus and reserve, prioritizing mission success while safeguarding operational secrecy. Minato strictly avoids unnecessary temporal contamination, advising his team against discussing knowledge of Naruto's origins or future Hokage succession.

During the operation, Minato encounters Naruto Uzumaki, transported twenty years into the past. Initially masking his identity as a Konoha shinobi to protect the timeline, Minato instructs Naruto to evacuate Rōran for safety, an order Naruto later ignores. After learning Naruto's circumstances, Minato provides him with a Flying Thunder God Kunai bearing his space-time seal, enabling instant battlefield coordination. This kunai proves vital later for sealing the Ryūmyaku.

Minato coordinates tactics with Naruto and his team to protect Queen Sāra and expose Anrokuzan's control over Rōran's citizens through chakra puppets. In the final clash with Anrokuzan, Minato observes Naruto employing the Rasengan – his own recently created technique. Minato devises a joint strategy, synchronizing their Rasengans and transferring his chakra to Naruto to amplify the attack's power. This combined force, coupled with Queen Sāra weakening the Ryūmyaku's regeneration, defeats Anrokuzan.

Minato then utilizes the returned Flying Thunder God Kunai to seal the Ryūmyaku, resolving the temporal instability. Throughout these events, he refrains from explicitly acknowledging his paternal connection to Naruto, though subtle interactions imply an unspoken recognition. He expresses professional admiration for Naruto's determination and strength, a respect quietly reflecting their deeper bond. His actions during the Rōran crisis exemplify his legendary speed, tactical innovation, and decisive leadership.
