Description
Nemo begins as a homunculus created by Amis Germain, designed to become the prophesied "Son of Destruction" destined to bring about the God of Destruction. Inspired by the spirit of the original hero Jenius, he escapes his laboratory and flees to a human village. When monsters pursue him, a village boy named Nemo sacrifices himself to save the homunculus. The homunculus absorbs the dying boy, taking on his physical form, memories, and identity, becoming known as Nemo.
As the sole survivor of Ulley Village's destruction by Physis-infected monsters, Nemo is rescued by Faria. During an attack on their train, he awakens as a Successor by bonding with Jenius via a silver card granted by the goddess Serrass. This bond allows Jenius to manifest visually and grants Nemo combat abilities through a gauntlet grappling hook that transforms into a blade or the powerful energy cannon, Legis Breaker.
Sophitia, leader of the cult Physis, exposes Nemo's homunculus origins to Gareth. This revelation corrupts Gareth, leading to his betrayal and Nemo's lethal injury. Ellen intervenes with temporal magic to save Nemo's life, nearly dying in the process. During his recovery, Nemo is visited by the spirit of the original human Nemo, who forgives him and urges him to protect those he cares about. This encounter strengthens Nemo's resolve to defy his intended destiny.
In the final confrontation with Sophitia, Nemo remembers the full truth: the original Nemo consciously chose to sacrifice himself to save him, not merely be consumed. This realization, combined with his bond to Jenius, allows them to merge their remaining powers and recreate the Book of Time. They trap Sophitia and the dark powers within it, permanently sealing the threat. This act extinguishes Jenius's soul and strips Nemo of all supernatural abilities, rendering him fully human.
After these events, Nemo chooses to remain with Faria despite losing his powers. They depart Granseed Academy together, journeying to find a method to destroy the Book of Time and prevent its future misuse. His character evolves from a polite, humble survivor burdened by guilt into a determined individual who embraces his own identity and willingly sacrifices his power to protect others.
