Natsuki Sasahara, one of three elementary school girls chosen as a magical princess idol, embodies Kaguya-hime from *The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter*. Her surname, Sasahara ("bamboo field"), reflects Kaguya-hime's bamboo forest origin, while "tsuki" in her given name means "moon," alluding to Kaguya-hime's celestial roots. She lives with her grandparents while her parents manage a kimono fabric business away from home.
Athletic and tomboyish, Natsuki excels at sports like soccer and box vaulting. She possesses a headstrong personality but struggles to express her true feelings openly, sometimes seeming dishonest or guarded about her emotions.
