Kanon Fukuda was a Japanese pop singer and voice actress, born on March 12, 1995. Her career in the entertainment industry began in 2004 when she joined Hello! Pro Egg, the training program for the Hello! Project collective of female idols. During her early years in the program, she gained performance experience through various musical theater productions and as a backup dancer for Hello! Project concerts.
In 2008, Fukuda was selected as a member of Shugo Chara Egg!, a unit formed specifically to perform the opening theme songs for the anime series Shugo Chara!! Doki. This marked her initial connection to the anime industry through music. The following year, she became a founding member of the idol group S/mileage, later known as ANGERME, alongside fellow Hello! Pro Egg members.
Fukuda's most significant voice acting role came in 2010 when she was cast as Natsuki Sasahara in the anime television series Hime Chen! Otogi Chikku Idol Lilpri. The series, which began airing in April 2010, featured three elementary school girls who could transform into fairy tale princesses. Fukuda voiced Natsuki Sasahara, a character characterized by her love of sports and pudding, who transforms into Kaguya-hime. Along with her fellow S/mileage members Ayaka Wada and Yuuka Maeda, who voiced the other two lead characters, Fukuda also performed as part of the unit Lilpri, which contributed the opening theme songs for the anime. This integration of voice acting and musical performance represented a natural extension of her idol career.
Beyond voice acting, Fukuda's career included work in musical theater. In August 2009, she appeared in the musical adaptation of Shugo Chara!, playing the role of Nadeshiko Fujisaki. She also participated in various stage productions throughout her time with Hello! Project.
