Yūtarō Ishii works as a police detective under the direct supervision of Detective Kazutoshi Gotou. Initially captivated by the supernatural, Ishii admired Gotou under the mistaken belief he was an "Occult Detective," mirroring Ishii's own fascination with the paranormal.
