Kunel Sanders serves as an alias for Albireo Imma, concealing his true identity as a former healer of the legendary Ala Rubra brigade alongside Nagi Springfield. He appears as a youthful man with pale skin, slim features, and long dark blue hair tied in a ponytail, usually wearing a robe over dark clothing. Chronologically over 2600 years old, he maintains a physical age resembling 20-30 years. Confined as a librarian within Mahora's Library Island for a decade, he can only project replicas during the annual school festival via the World Tree's magic. His personality blends perversion—manifested by coercing Evangeline into costumes—with cunning intellect and a trickster mentality, making him one of Evangeline's natural enemies alongside Nagi. A master mage, his primary affinity is gravity-elemental magic, demonstrated by spells like "Small Heavy Black Hole," generating a sphere equivalent to a black hole. His Pactio artifact, "Bibliothecarius Ironicus," consists of a bookmark and a spiral archive of books. This allows him to transform into any person recorded within, temporarily wielding their abilities and memories, though emulating someone stronger limits the duration to minutes. Extended use erases the book's power, rendering it a mundane biography. His active Pactio card with Nagi Springfield, bearing two colors (indigo and gold) referencing the binary star Albireo, confirms Nagi's survival. He provides critical guidance to Negi Springfield, confirming Nagi's survival and advising travel to the magical world for answers. Later, he reveals Asuna Kagurazaka's forgotten past as Princess Asuna Vesperina Theotanasia Entheofushia to Evangeline and participates in the final battle against the revived Cosmo Entelecheia. In the sequel UQ Holder!, corrupted during the 2065 conflict, he sides with Negi under the Mage of the Beginning's influence for 80 years. He shows interest in Santa's revenant nature due to parallels with his creator Sayako and the Mage. Freed from mind control during the final battle through Touta Konoe's efforts, he also created the Gravity Blade weapon used by Touta. His design was contributed by Ken Akamatsu's former assistant Ran Ayanaga. The alias "Ku:Nel Sanders" derives from a Japanese magazine name and wordplay on "eat, sleep," reflecting his laid-back attitude, while the surname references Colonel Sanders of Kentucky Fried Chicken.
