Description
Viscount Pygman serves as a lieutenant to Dr. Hell. Originally a powerful Maasai shaman commanding nature, his failing body was revived by Dr. Hell and Tsubasa Nishikiori. They granted him a new form, implanting a neural block to ensure loyalty.
His appearance shifts across depictions. One guise is "Jim Mazinger": a tall African man with black eyes, curly black hair, and formal attire—black jacket, blue vest, red shirt. He later blinded this form to bypass the neural block's prohibition against viewing Tsubasa. His true form is pygmy-sized with pale skin, magenta hair, black arm/wrist bands, and briefs. Another depiction presents a large, muscular Maasai body bearing tribal markings, topped by a pygmy upper body as the head, adorned with a loincloth, suspenders, and bands/rings.
Pygman shows fierce loyalty to Dr. Hell and respect for fellow lieutenants like Baron Ashura, aiding him when cornered or punished. Described as 'wild', he often operated solo, sometimes commandeering Mechanical Beasts without authorization. He displayed cruelty, manipulation, and brutality against Dr. Hell's enemies. He notably showed no fear toward Archduke Gorgon and possessed a distinctive weak-toned laugh ("Keekekekekekeke") when using magic.
His formidable physical strength enabled him to lift and throw humans single-handedly. As a shaman, he commanded vast mystical powers: voodoo-based illusions, sickness induction, wildlife control, levitation via conjured wings, missile interception, flame summoning, fire-breathing, wind gusts channeled through his shield, and teleportation. He fought on the front lines with spear and shield. A unique ability allowed him to separate his two bodies; the smaller upper body levitated while the lower body moved autonomously.
Key actions define his history. He first aided Baron Ashura by diverting a missile fired by Tsubasa. Later, he afflicted Tsubasa with mystical sickness and disguised himself as Ashura to extract information on the Arm of Zeus, though Tsubasa saw through the deception. He controlled the Bood submarine during the final assault on the Photon Power Lab, manipulating Yanosuke Yumi and directly attacking the lab once its barrier fell. Earlier, he hijacked the Glory R2 Mechanical Beast solo to attack the lab, battling Mazinger Z until its destruction. He survived the laboratory explosion but, while attempting to kill Dr. Yumi, was doused with decomposing chemicals by Inspector Ankokuji and Gamia Q3. Reverted to his true form, he tried to flee but was killed by Blade.
