Description
Gazelleman, also known as Dik-Dik Van-Dik in the American adaptation, is a Tanzanian gazelle-type wrestler. A top-ranked graduate of the Hercules Factory, he earned first place in his class, celebrated for his combat prowess and handsome looks. Standing between 193 and 205 cm tall and weighing 136 kg, he possesses a chojin power of 1,000,000. Initially assigned to protect Tokyo alongside Mantaro Kinniku, his duties included monitoring Mantaro's activities. Despite his prestigious ranking, Gazelleman suffers frequent match losses, often used to establish villains' strength, gradually shifting his role toward comic relief.

His signature techniques are the Antler Fist, where he dons an antlered glove and leaps for a powerful strike, and the more potent Savannah Heat, which splits opponents into three parts, first observed in the V-Jump manga. Early appearances showcase his confidence and leadership, like commanding a Hercules Factory ship to Tokyo and confronting Mantaro over neglected duties. However, he endures repeated defeats, notably by Kevin Mask and the evil d.M.p group, who easily overpower him initially, contributing to his waning confidence.

During the Hercules Factory's Second Year Replacement Matches, Gazelleman faced Jade at Yokohama International Stadium. Taunted about his condition, he briefly gained an advantage after Jade lost a personal item but succumbed to exhaustion, sidelining him for much of the arc before returning to support Mantaro. In the Chojin Olympics: The Resurrection, he became Tanzania's champion by defeating Sky Crow but fell in the preliminary rounds after losing a "Rock, Paper, Scissors" match due to excessive curiosity. His comedic role intensified here, featuring failed attempts to replace Kevin Mask and misguided efforts to sway audience sentiment during Mantaro's bouts.

Gazelleman consistently supports his teammates despite setbacks. He cheers Mantaro after losses, assists in Hercules Factory training during the Demon Seed arc, and partners with Terry the Kid to simulate wrestling techniques for Mantaro. In the V-Jump manga continuity, he participates in a tournament, facing a childhood friend. His popularity surfaced when he ranked third in a wrestler contest.

Throughout the series, Gazelleman balances his comedic persona with loyalty, defending Kevin Mask after a tag-match loss and inspiring Mantaro during critical training. His character evolves from a top-tier graduate to a figure whose resilience lies in unwavering, though often ineffective, support for his allies.
